We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Playworker to join the team at Hillcroft Primary School on a permanent basis. This rewarding role involves supporting our before and after‑school provision.
While we are ideally seeking someone who can cover all sessions mentioned below each week.
Hours of work are as follows:
Monday: 7:30–8:30am (1 hour)
Tuesday: 7:30–8:30am and 3:15–5:30pm (3 hours 15 minutes)
Wednesday: 8:00–8:30am and 3:15–5:00pm (2 hours 15 minutes)
Thursday: 8:00–8:30am and 3:15–4:15pm (1 hour 30 minutes)
Friday: 7:30–8:30am (1 hour)
Total weekly hours: 9 hours

- Be able to develop positive relationships with young children
- Have an interest in the play needs of children
- Be able to participate in a variety of activities including arts and crafts, cooking, and other indoor and outdoor games.
- Be proactive, using their own initiative to differentiate activities to ensure full inclusion for all abilities and ages.
- Be able to stay calm and objective when presented with unusual or challenging behaviour and circumstances
- Be enthusiastic and motivated and committed to working as part of a team

The Details
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: GLF Associate 1 - £23,607
Actual Salary: £5,467.79
Hours: 9 hours per week - 42 weeks per year (term time plus)
Closing Date: 22nd March 2026
