Kilnwood Vale School are looking for a Learning Assistant to join our school. You could be supporting a child on a 1:1 basis, or a class teacher in a class of up to 30 children. Ideally you will be an experienced Learning Assistant, but whatever your level of experience, please use the supporting statement on the application form to show us how you match the skills we need and what you can bring to the role.

Our Learning Assistants really are valued members of our team and are expected to support the education and progress of either an assigned child who needs additional support with their learning, or in a more generalist role within a classroom.

What we are looking for:
• Someone to assist in preparing the classroom, receiving children and clearing away
• Help with planning activities and preparing materials to help the child access the curriculum
• To support the children in class, group and individual activities, indoors and outdoors.
• Assist in monitoring the child's progress, assessing achievement and recording results and observations, sharing outcomes with the class teacher
• A can do approach and flexibility
• Knowledge of SEND, Thrive and supporting pupils with additional needs, is desirable
• A confident and clear communicator with parents.
• An excellent role model to children, colleagues and parents, exemplifying our core principle of kindness
• A positive, open-minded professional actively supportive of the ethos, vision and values of the school
• A member of the team who can build strong relationships with parents, children and staff

Start Date: November 2024
Actual Salary: £18,279 ( Full time £22,834)
Hours of work: 33.5hrs a week term time
Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 8.30am – 3.30pm Wed 8.30am – 4.30pm
